Hypnotherapy
None of us are perfect; we all have problems. Most people do their best to mask their problems and show the world a perfect, happy face — but that doesn’t make the problems go away. The best way to solve your problems is to face them directly. But you don’t have to do so alone!
Hypnotherapy is one way to get help. A hypnotist can help you understand what’s going on in the deeper, subconscious parts of your mind; and can help you learn how to resolve the problems you’re dealing with.
If you are not familiar with the term “subconscious mind”, I recommend learning about it. Click here to do so!Specialties
These are the topics that I specialize in:
- Improving self-esteem
- Feeling better about your own body
- Setting positive habits, such as working out at the gym more consistently
- Breaking negative habits, such as overeating and negative self-talk
- Removing shame, especially shame around sex and kink
- Addressing internalized homophobia
- Addressing sexual issues, such as difficulty with bottoming during sex
- Integrating kink practices with everyday life
Interested in something else? Ask me about it! I may not be able to help you with other topics, but it doesn’t hurt to ask; and even if I can’t help you myself, I may be able to refer you to someone else who can help you.
How do we get started?
First, fill out the “request a session” form or contact me directly, so that we can plan a time to meet; either in person or on a videocall.
Before doing any hypnosis together, you and I will discuss your current situation, the issues you are facing, and the ways I might be able to help you. This is called an “intake session”, and it is free of change. There are two main goals for the intake session: helping me to understand you, and helping you to feel comfortable with me. Hypnosis depends on trust, and the more comfortable you feel with me, the more effectively I can help you.
By the end of the intake, we both get to decide if we want to move forward. If you do not feel comfortable working with me, then you should not do so: it’s better to stop at this point, rather than waste your time and mine! Of course, I also need to decide if I feel comfortable working with you: if I don’t feel like I can help you effectively, then it’s better for both of us if you find someone else to help you.
If we both want to move forward, then we can either start the first hypnosis session immediately, or we can plan another time in the near future to do so.
What happens in a session?
Having established your goals during the intake session, the hypnosis session(s) will be about me helping you to achieve those goals. Generally speaking, the first hypnosis session will mostly focus on getting you into a trance, and giving you some helpful triggers so that I can hypnotize you more quickly and easily in the future.
Beyond that, it depends on what your goals are. If you want to work on your self-esteem, we will probably explore your subconscious mind to figure out why you feel bad about yourself, and how we can shift that to feeling good about yourself. If you want to work on setting good habits, we will do exercises to visualize how that habit will help you and make you happier, and make plans with your subconscious to encourage you to want to follow through on that habit. And so on: the specifics depend a lot on what your goals are, and we can discuss those specifics during the intake session.
However, two general themes to expect are engagement and interaction. Hypnosis is not something that you passively receive; to be effective, hypnosis requires your active collaboration. I expect you to be engaged in the topic at hand, and to interact with me so I can find out whether what I’m doing is effective. You will be speaking to me during the session; at times you will be fully aware of doing so, and at times you may find yourself responding to me with little to no conscious awareness.
How many sessions will it take?
It depends. Some issues can be resolved in just one hypnosis session, if you just need a firm push in the right direction. However, most of the time it will require multiple sessions for you to see significant changes.
There are many factors that can influence how effective each session is for you. Hypnosis affects different people differently; some people respond to it very strongly right from the beginning, while others need time and practice to go into a deeper trance. Openness to change is also an important consideration: even when you are specifically seeking a change in your mental state, making that change can be difficult for some people. Trust and connection with your hypnotist also plays a big role; the more comfortable you are with me, the deeper you will be able to go into trance, which can result in the hypnosis session affecting you more strongly.
The first session that we do together will give me a lot of information in terms of what works well for you, and what doesn’t. That should help me give you a better estimation of how long this process will take.
Sexual & Kinky Topics
As a professional hypnotist who does erotic hypnosis, the vast majority of my clients are looking for something sexual or kinky in nature — including the people who are primarily interested in hypnotherapy. I am very comfortable with this; in fact, I see it as one of the unique benefits of working with me. Most therapists are only able to discuss sex and kink in the abstract, rather than engaging in them with you directly. Most play partners are not equipped to help you with the issues in your head. I am able to do both.
However, just because I’m open to exploring sex and kink with my clients, doesn’t mean that I ignore their goals and their well-being. If you come to me because you feel a deep sense of shame after you engage in sexual activity with someone, then it’s entirely possible that you and I will get sexual together, so that I can help you confront and deal with this shame in a healthy way. If you come to me because you want to set more consistent workout goals, and you like the idea of submitting to me, then I may dominate you and order you to work out consistently, and to show me evidence of doing so each time you work out. The things that I do with you (and to you) can be fun, exciting, and hot; but they will also move you forward, helping you to achieve your goals.
During our hypnosis sessions, you are always welcome to wear whatever kind of clothing or gear feels most comfortable to you, as long as it doesn’t get in the way of the work we are doing together. Your sexual energy is welcome, as long as it adds to your focus instead of detracting from it. I care about helping you achieve your goals, but there’s no reason we can’t have a good time together while doing so!
Of course, if you do not want to engage in anything sexual or kinky with me, that is also perfectly fine. Some people, such as demisexuals, need to get to know someone before they feel safe enough to explore anything erotic with them; I completely understand that, and I will not push you to do so. When it comes to building trust and opening up, everyone moves at their own pace, and I respect that. There is never any obligation to do anything with me that you don’t want to do; I never want to make you (or anyone) feel uncomfortable.
Safety & Risks
While hypnosis is very safe, there are some risks to consider. To learn more about them, please read this page about “Safety and Risks with Hypnosis”.
